How many of you have heard of the Chinese folktale titled "A Grain of Rice" by Helena Clare Pittman? About the farmer that asked the Emperor for one grain of rice, doubled every day for 100 days? If you haven't, the amount of rice the Emperor ended up owing the farmer so much rice it exceeded the nation's treasury and he ended up giving the farmer his daughter's hand in marriage. This story helps illustrate the power of exponential growth!
